Weekend Exclusive | I am always open to anything that is new different and exciting: UK based Music Director, Shri Sriram

Shri who was born and brought up in Mumbai made a breakthrough over a decade ago in 1993. His talent was discovered by a British festival Producer, Simon Dove who under his wing took Shri to England to play with Talvin Singh, a British- Asian Tabla player and producer. After becoming one of the members of the small stable of artists to record label-Outcaste records, he came up with or actually went on to mark his presence with a UK debut Drum, the Bass-a superb album in 1997.

Recently Shri has composed and produced music for the latest Google Chrome advertisement. The ad is inspired by the real story of G. Rajendran, an artist from Tamil Nadu who used web to bring the dying art of "Tanjore" paintings back to life.

This is called a born talent!!! He has been a trained table player, a music director, a lyricist, a successful composer for the stage and also he is a multi-instrumentalist whose range also includes the Indian Bamboo flute and bass, in which he is self-taught. His trademark instrument, fretless bass played with a bow was designed by himself. He has worked with traditional Indian musical styles including Rock, Jazz, and Drum 'n' Bass. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal(at)adgully.com]
