RJ Garuv touches our hearts with his warm voice and his evergreen playlist. Talking candidly to us he expresses his love for theatre and highlights of his radio career.

Gaurav tells us that he wanted to be a radio jockey since his days in theatre. He explains that during those days theatre artists would also do radio plays and when radio became private, Radio city knocked on Gaurav's door.

RJ Gaurav shares that radio is one of the most amazing mediums. Speaking in detail about radio Gaurav goes on to express his views about the khatti and meethi sides of being a radio jockey. The khatti being that radio has changed a lot over the years. Radio seems to easy enough to comprehend however we do not realize the detailing that goes into a show.

The other limitation according to Gaurav which is possibly the most important is that more than your name you are recognized by your voice and because of that an RJ must be able to choose his words properly depending on your listeners off course.

RJ Gaurav shares an amusing story about the time he absent mindedly left the mike switched on which lead to it being the first time for an RJ to be left speechless.

RJ Gaurav hosts a show called "Kal bhi, aaj bhi'on Radio City and the challenge he faces with this show is the research that he puts into it to give it that authenticity. The show plays music from yesteryears and interviews of legends who have paved the way for music today. Thus it becomes a learning experience for him and his listeners.

With radio the thing to remember is that one needs to be very consistent. Two qualities that stand out are Consistency n honesty because radio is all being about yourself and relating to your listeners by voicing simple things also like the events of your day.

Gaurav brings in that x factor by listening back on his shows and learning from his highs and lows. He also uses daily experiences and language & diction as a means to keep the material fresh, always.

The most enduring interview that Gaurav has done so far would be Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor while the toughest would be Gulzar.

A little known fact about RJ Gaurav is that he is an avid reader and always eager to learn more.

Amin Sayani has been Gauravs' inspiration as he grew up hearing Sayanis' voice on the radio. Gaurav has learnt a great deal from him first hand.
