Weekend Exclusive | Viraf Patel: Its genetics!

An all round entertainer Viraf Patel has spun turntables, walked the ramp and performed on screen. Viraf got his first taste of the flash lights when he won Grasim Mr. India in 2005. He then moved on to many modeling assignments and eventually landed him a role as "Shiv' in the romantic-comedy serial Mahi Way.

Following in his brothers footsteps, Viraf a student of electrical engineering was also a sailor in the Merchant Navy Before entering the world of entertainment.

The transition from sailing to modeling and now acting has, in his own words been "a fantastic journey". He does not see this transition as "unfocused" but rather finds himself lucky enough to enjoy making the most of his skills, all this is thanks to his genetics, upbringing and the gift of the gab. He states that all these experiences add to his career as well as personal life for example, while trying to be an interesting blind date, he jokes.

Always encouraged by his elder brothers Viraf decided that he "wanted to move from strutting to performing". Thus modeling became a stepping stone for his acting career.

This modest human being who is "still getting to know himself" feels that it is a humbling experience when a fan comes to him. All he wants in return is for them to, "keep giving me the love." | By Vanessa Azavedo [vanessa(at)adgully.com]
