Under the new subsidiary, World Kitchen will be selling directly to Indian consumers through retail outlets & Channel partners. This model will enable World Kitchen to sell directly in the North, East and Western parts of India. An appointed partner TTK Prestige will overlook the Southern distribution. It also provides World Kitchen with better control over local sales and marketing activities together with improved customer service standards.

"Over the past decade, we have been witnessing high growth in segments such as crockery, with a market size of around USD 726 million and growing. Even with the overall housewares industry at USD 3.3 billion, the Indian market still has enormous growth potential," said Joseph Mallof, President and Chief Executive Officer, World Kitchen Holding Company LLC. "Establishing an Indian subsidiary will enable us to better meet the demands of a rapidly evolving consumer base, capture a bigger share of the growing Indian market and provide local consumers with enhanced access to World Kitchen's wide repertoire of brands and products."

Aside from benefiting from a wider distribution system, consumers in India can also look forward to new products and designs launched not only from the iconic Corelle brand, but also from Corningware, Pyrex and Visions.

"Driven by higher household income and growing aspirations to own branded and better quality products, today's Indian consumers are demanding housewares that are beyond durability and design to go with their sophisticated lifestyle," said Nandina Ramchandran, Country General Manager of World Kitchen, India. "We aim to continue providing Indian consumers with products of the highest quality, such as Corelle. Each piece of Corelle is made with Vitrelle®, a unique 3-layer laminated glass that is light weight and chip resistant, signifying World Kitchen's commitment to quality products for our consumers. With the launch of World Kitchen's Indian subsidiary, we are in a very good place to do so."

Indian consumers are also rapidly becoming more sophisticated and demanding from their housewares. Apart from durability and design, hygiene and safety are also at the forefront of what consumers lookout for when it comes to purchasing better quality products. All products under the Corelle, Corningware, Pyrex and Visions brand are made from glass and glass ceramic, produced under stringent quality and care. Being non-porous in nature, the materials ensure that food particles do not remain trapped on the surface, thereby giving consumers in India peace of mind when it comes to cleanliness.
