Yahoo! looks to strike the right chord with Fresh Fridays

One of the pioneers of American advertising Leo Burnett once famously said, "Good advertising does not just circulate information. It penetrates the public mind with desires and belief."

Advertising is something that started way back in the Egyptian era, where they used papyrus to make sales messages and wall posters. In India too, the tradition of wall painting can be traced back to Indian rock art paintings that date back to 4000 BC.

History tells us that out-of-home advertising and billboards are the oldest forms of advertising.

So what does one exactly mean by advertising?

Well! Advertising in simple terms means to communication intended to persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to purchase or take some action upon products, ideals, or services

Over the years the face of advertising has changed”right from its form to style of advertising.

The advertising started as early as 1836, where French newspaper La Presse was the first to include paid advertising in its pages to increase its profitability.

Then came the era of radios, where in early 1920s, the first radio stations were established by radio equipment manufacturers and retailers who offered programs in order to sell more radios to consumers.

This practice was carried over to television in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

And now with the advent of internet, it has just broadened its wings.

Since then there has been the growth of various ad agencies, which specialize in ads, which would capture the minds of the people. The recent Zu Zu is one such example of recent times, which managed to win hearts and along with smart marketing, it managed to attract more customers.

Yahoo! too is trying to catch the eye of their fan following with a unique initiative called "Fresh Fridays'.

"Fresh Fridays' is a unique program for creative and media agencies on every Friday. It's an informal two to three hours program, where in it interacts with agencies individually to run workshops, by educating on possibilities and trends of digital advertising.

With the constant evolution of types of advertising form each day, it's an initiative to educate the advertisers and clients so that they can understand the brand better.

Yahoo hopes that with such an initiative from Yahoo hopes that it would help them use the digital platform in an effective manner.
