Your Favourite Stars Dazzle Bright at ‘Zee Rishtey Awards 2016’

Over the last 25 glorious years, Zee TV has carried its legacy of celebrating the relationships within its family of actors, directors, producers, creative teams, technicians and the special one it has built with its viewers through its annual property- 'Zee Rishtey Awards'.  This festivity is a celebration of relationships which underlines the fact that Zee’s bond with its loyal viewers is the strongest.  Zee Rishtey Awards 2016 that was held in Mumbai on 5th February will be telecast on Sunday, 19th Feb at 7 PM  on Zee TV.  This mega event was a memorable evening where the entire constellation of Zee TV’s most popular stars descended on a single platform and set the stage ablaze with their breath-taking performances!

The awards ceremony was hosted by heartthrob Ritwik Dhanjani and stand-up comedian Bharti Singh. While hosting the show, they were a complete entertainment package with their spontaneity, impeccable comic timing and their ability to leave the crowd in splits. The two of them brought the house down with their witty one-liners and flair for taking hilarious potshots at just about anybody. The opening act had the introduction of the entire Zee family in the most unique manner where the cast of each show was unveiled differently, using elaborate props, aerial entries and all kinds of visually stunning special effects.

Bringing alive the beautiful expression of love was the popular Abhi- Prgaya Jodi from Kumkum Bhagya. A beautiful dreamy romantic act performed by Shabir Ahluwalia & Sriti Jha to songs like Tere Sang Yaara, Tuta Jo Koi Taara & Lag Ja Gale set the stage on fire. Sizzling beauties- Mehek (played Samiksha Jaiswal), Raina (played by Krystal) and Mahi (played by Shiny Doshi) enthralled the audiences by showcasing three Indian dance forms- Lavni, Tandav and Kathak on chartbusters like Pinga, Sau Tarah ke and Humma. Then it was the turn of the boys Ravi dubey, Iqbal Khan, Ssudeep Sahir and Karan Vohra to come on stage and prove their dancing prowess to high energy party numbers. With their well-co-ordinated moves and lively expressions, they had the audiences dancing with them every step of the way!

The evening saw some mind-blowing performances from various actors but the one act that stood out, simply because it brought alive the essence of the awards show, was the ‘Rishtey act’ that featured television’s most favourite Saas, grandfather, Gharwali Baaharwali, dad and kids coming together all at once on stage to shake a leg! The Zindagi Ki Mehek and Brahmarakshas Jodi, Shaurya (Karan Vohra)- Mehek (Samiksha Jaiswal) and Rishabh (Aham Sharma)- Raina (Krystal) presented an act of love and romance.

The flamboyant Sa Re Ga Ma Pa anchor Aditya Narayan & the junta’s favorite Master Mudassar came together in a singing vs dancing jugal bandi. To ensure that the audiences were in splits throughout the evening, the Comedy King Krushna along with Mubeen entertained them with some laughter therapy. Both of them donned the avatar of 2 gossip loving aunties, who were Zee’s Biggest Fans. Another hilarious gag had Krushna, Mubeen and Shreya donning the role of a fiction writer, a TV producer and a channel head. The act gave audiences a parody on the making of their favourite television shows! No performance night is complete without the dancing stars of ‘Dance India Dance’ setting the stage on fire. To pay a tribute to the ultimate Disco Dancer and everybody’s favorite Grandmaster Mithun Da, dancing gems Mudassar, Sanam Johar, Prince, Rohan Parkale and Proneeta performed a mind-blowing dance act that had the audience swaying and dancing with them.

The glittering event saw the who’s who of the television industry walk the red carpet. It was a glamorous occasion with beautiful dresses and accessories. To see who amongst your favorite stars walked away with the most laurels and accolades, tune into Zee Rishtey Awards 2016 on Sunday, 19th February at 7:00 PM, only on Zee TV.
