YouTube is Expanding Access to its New Clips Option

YouTube said that it will be rolling out its new clip option over the coming weeks which will enable users to select a small part of the video clip that will be upto 60 seconds which will then play on a loop directly on the original video’s watch page.

This will help the users to share a specific segment from their YouTube video. Once the Clip is created, the user can then share it to social media, or via e-mail, with YouTube allocating a new URL for the video Clip.

On the YouTube Help site, it notes that Clips is 'currently in limited alpha', with the focus on gaming creators and helping to maximize sharing of gaming content.

YouTube is also adding new Clips view counter for eligible channels that will provide them a way to track Clips enagagement.

This will help users for making shorter clips out of the longer YouTube uploads.
