“Zee Cine Awards 2023 plans to take the entertainment quotient to a whole new level”

For three decades now, Zee Cine Awards been a platform for celebrating excellence in Cinema and the true spirit of heroism embodied in larger-than-life performances and glorious entertainment. Over the years, the prestigious awards show has felicitated the inspiring journeys of countless luminaries, filmmakers and technicians. Stage is now set for Zee Cine Awards 2023, presented by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL). Short video app Hipi has just successfully concluded the voting phase for the Viewers’ Choice categories of the Zee Cine Awards 2023.

In conversation with Adgully, Ruchir Tiwari, Chief Cluster Officer, Hindi Movie channels, Film Licensing & Syndication, ZEEL, shares some details about how this year Zee Cine Awards is coming up with all new talents and performances. This year, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are the face of Zee Cine Awards.

Speaking on the journey of the Zee Cine Awards, Tiwari said, “Zee Cine Awards is a show that celebrates excellence in Cinema and the true spirit of heroism embodied in larger-than-life performances and glorious entertainment. This has been a key property for the last 30 years. Due to the pandemic, there was a hold in this award show for two years, but now it has bucked up again.”

He pointed out that the prestigious award show has trotted the globe with its previous editions and felicitated the inspiring journeys of countless luminaries, filmmakers, and technicians over the years.

This year, Mumbai will play host to Bollywood’s finest talent, global dignitaries, world media, and a mélange of glitz and glamour at the highly anticipated star-studded event. Tiwari shared, “This year, we plan to take the entertainment quotient to a whole new level through an exciting line-up of Bollywood superstars – the first of which are Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. We have several other exciting names that we will reveal in due course. Given the legacy, credibility, and popularity that it commands, it is our endeavour to maximise the reach of Zee Cine Awards through a simulcast on Zee Cinema and Zee TV, apart from being available on our streaming platform, ZEE5, making it a winning proposition for all our partners.”

Fans from across the globe will witness the biggest entertainment night as Zee Cinema, Zee TV and ZEE5 will soon showcase ‘Maruti Suzuki Arena Presents Zee Cine Awards 2023’.

Tiwari added that the more significant idea of the Zee Cine Awards is to celebrate Cinema. “This is more like a festival for us to celebrate. In terms of data on viewership, we are expecting an audience from all around the globe. Zee is the platform that captures the fan base of the entire world and hence, the expectations in terms of viewership are quite high this time,” he added.
