Zee lends its support Modi’s fight against corruption & black money

Further to the announcement made on November 8th by India’s Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Currency Demonetisation and the Nation’s fight against corruption and black money, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) today announced its wholehearted support to this initiative. The organization has rolled-out an extensive campaign across various consumer touch points to create awareness and educate people on this #FightAgainstCorruption.

Sharing his views on this initiative, Dr. Subhash Chandra (@subhashchandra), Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha & Chairman - Essel Group had tweeted: “I welcome the decision taken by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. This decision is truly path-breaking, probably one of the biggest economic reforms in independent India. It will definitely curb the black money issue and reduce corruption drastically. This was a much-needed step which will directly benefit the poorest of the poor. I am confident it will have a positive impact at all frontiers, be it social or economic. Crime rate will be reduced and we Bhartiya will regain our dignity. Mark my words, November 8, 2016 will be remembered forever. Corruption aur Black Money ke ‘Bure Din’ shuru. (The start of ‘Bad Days’ for Corruption and Black Money is here).”

Since 2:00 am on November 9th, ZEE’s bouquet of channels have been running special scrolls in public interest, with details and contact numbers to reach out for more information on the #FightAgainstCorruption. Moreover, the network’s popular leading protagonists are lending their support to the campaign through a public message across ZEE channels, both Hindi GEC and regional. The messaging has been further amplified through ZEE’s digital platforms, social media accounts and websites to reach as many people as possible.

Mr. Punit Goenka (@punitgoenka), MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited:

“I urge my fellow citizens not to panic. The important decision taken on November 8th, of discontinuing Rs.500 & Rs.1000 currency notes, is aimed towards the brighter future of our nation! This is a path- breaking reform, not regression. A Samudra Manthan of our times. Honest citizens need not fear. There will be short-lived inconvenience, but for a better tomorrow. This is where we can all do our part. Also, as a Network, we are already running this message on all our channels, to create public awareness about the initiative and unite citizens in the fight against corruption.”
