Zee Talkies' milestone film 'Kaksparsh' completes its 50 days!

Box-office 2012 had been a cold affair in its recent weeks as far as Marathi and Bollywood films.  But Zee Talkies film KAKSPARSH changes the game by clocking a phenomenal collection figure, in mere 7 weeks and sets the box office on fire. 3rd May 1913, Dadasaheb Phalke gave Indian Cinema its first motion picture-Raja Harishchandra. On 4th May 2012 as we entered into the 100th year of Indian Cinema. On this occasion, Zee Talkies delivered a landmark movie - KAKSPARSH, which proved to be a milestone not only in Marathi but National Cinema. It is hitting super duper in 50 days in around 50  theatres with 500 shows across Maharashtra.

"It had good content and performances to boast of and audiences were starved of good cinema for quite some weeks", says critics and trade experts.
“Evidently it opened with massive response and went beyond expectations. KAKSPARSH is continued hitting in around 70 theatres across Maharashtra in 8th week. After NATARANG - Zee Talkies has again re written the rules of Box Office by delivering the Biggest hits of recent times in Marathi Cinema, KAKSPARSH ! ” – says Nikhil Sane, Business Head of Zee Talkies.

When the trend in cinemas worldwide is to release a film in maximum screens which gradually reduces week after week as new releases take over, Zee Talkies’ KAKSPARSH has twisted the norms of the field. With a strong response across, in spite of big films running across nationally - Jannat 2, Dangerous Ishq , Ishaakzade , Department, Rowdy Rathore & Ferrari Ki Sawari in Hindi & the much awaited Ajintha, Chintu & Tukaram in Marathi,  KAKSPARSH continued to stand strong and get overwhelming responses from Marathi and Non Marathi viewers.

A film which is creatively stimulating, entertaining, enlightening and beautifully arresting, KAKSPARSH is a cinematic canvas with just the right strokes of acting talents, story, music, cinematography and but of course path-breaking direction. 'Kaksparsha' has a special significance, as the film is being produced and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who has given the best films under his banner, Great Maratha Entertainment LLP and presented by Zee Talkies.

KAKSPARSH is a dream project of Mahesh Manjrekar. It has been shot on the backdrop of the period 1930- 1955 and revolves around the happenings in a Brahmin family. Story by Usha Datar with the screenplay dialogues by Girish Joshi, the film's music is composed by Rahul Ranade on the lyrics by Kishor Kadam. Art directors Prashant Rane and Abhishek Vijaykar are behind the hard work of erecting the sets of that era little before independence and immediately after independence. Cinematography is done by Ajit Reddy and editing by Rahul Bhatankar. There are high expectations from this film, as it is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar himself.

Mahesh Manjrekar, expressed his feelings on his dream project, "I did not choose Kaksparsh, the film chose me. This film was not included in my scheme of things. Rather I did not even know a film of this name existed. One day, to my surprise and good fortune, Sachin asked Girish Joshi, the screenplay writer to read out the script to me. That was it! I was possessed. The script hit me like a thunder bolt and I couldn’t get it out of my system. Every single person involved, contributed immensely and today when I see the response of the viewers I feel proud of myself and my whole team. 'Kaksparsh' is my best till date!"

KAKSPARSH is an astonishing love story. Konkan in the 1930's witnessed an incredible story of love, sacrifice, passion and values. After receiving great applause from the viewers across Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa, KAKSPARSH has released its Music CDs to engage and enlighten the music lovers.  This is again a record in the Marathi Film Industry where the Music of the film is releasing after the film has been released in theatres across & supported by all.
