Zee TV celebrates 25 years; gears up to reveal new look on October 15

India’s private satellite TV channel, Zee TV, completed 25 years on Monday, October 2, 2017. The channel is all set to don a new look from October 15, wherein the current blue-coloured logo will be replaced by a new one in orange. According to industry sources, the tagline: ‘Har Lamha Nayi Umeed’ will be replaced by a more future-focussed tagline: ‘Aaj Likhenge Kal’.

On the milestone journey, Dr Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group and Rajya Sabha member, tweeted: “The launch of Zee TV 25 years ago was not merely the launch of a channel, but an industry which has provided employment to 50 lakh people and given a new direction to the nation.”

Acknowledging the important role played by its viewers in Zee’s success story, Chandra tweeted: “Today, Zee is a household name and it’s because of your continuous support and love, dear viewers. You’ll have made a private channel a public movement.”

Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, tweeted on the occasion: “The launch of Zee way back in 1992 sparked the evolution of not only just a company, but an entire industry in itself. 25 years back, on this very day, our Chairman, Dr. Subhash Chandra, launched our nation’s first private satellite television channel.”

Today, Zee straddles news, broadcasting, movies, music, live entertainment, and digital and talent businesses, both in India and overseas, offering entertainment, news and information to over 1.3 billion people in 173 countries in 19 languages.

This festive season, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd is expecting a 17-20 per cent increase in ad revenues at an overall industry level.

As per BARC data for Week 38 (September 16-22) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals], Zee TV was placed second amongst Hindi GECs, garnering a gross viewership of 671,377. Two of its shows – ‘KumKum Bhagya’ and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ – were among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Week 38.
