Zomato responds to Swara Bhaskar’s Tweet and #BoycottZomato trends

Bollywood Actor Swara Bhaskar mentioned Zomato in her Tweet asking the brand to stop advertising on channels like Republic TV.

She Tweeted, “Hey @zomatoin @zomato @deepigoyal I’m your regular customer.. do u plan to #DefundTheHate & pull your ads from hate espousing channels like @Republic_Bharat? I’m not okay with my money even indirectly funding this kind of communal bigoted hate! Pls let your consumers know..”

The company replied to her Tweet saying, “Hi Swara, please note, we don’t endorse any content except our own. That being said, we are looking into this.”

Users on Twitter voiced that Zomato was endorsing Swara Bhaskar and started using the #BoycottZomato claiming that they have uninstalled the app.
