Zoom boss Greg Tomb fired ‘without cause’

Zoom Video Communications has fired its president Greg Tomb.

The company said in a filing dated February 28 before the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it was terminating Tomb effective March 3.
“On February 28, 2023, Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (the “Company”) terminated the employment of Greg Tomb as the Company’s President, effective March 3, 2023. Mr. Tomb will receive the severance benefits payable in accordance with his previously disclosed employment arrangements that are payable upon a “termination without cause,” said the filing which was signed by COO Aparna Bawa.
The company’s stock tumbled after the termination news broke.
A Zoom spokesperson said that it is not looking for a replacement at this moment. Recently, the company announced its plan to lay off more than 1,000 of its employees, which is almost 15 percent of total staff.
Greg Tomb assumed the role of President in June 2022, reporting to the CEO Eric Yuan. Before joining Zoom, Tomb, who has more than two decade of experience in the tech domain, worked as VP of sales for Google Workspace. For almost ten years, he was with SAP in multiple leadership roles.
