AB Junior speaks his heart out on Look Who's Talking with Niranjan Iyengar

Known to be a prankster and a fun loving person on set, Abhishek sometimes feels people don’t take him seriously. He explains that he is rather good at covering his inhibitions and takes the fun way while doing so.

This week on Look Who’s Talking with Niranjan, watch Abhishek Bachchan talk about his work, his family and how he feels he will always be in Amitabh Bachchan’s shadow.

Like any other actor, criticism affects him, especially for Raavan which was both physically and mentally exhausting for him. The harsh media response affected his confidence levels immensely. There were times when he did not want to go home as he felt that he is not worthy of his father’s name. Abhishek is still picking up the pieces after that.

He understands as public figures they are subjected to public scrutiny, but he feels that one doesn’t need to be shown the mirror in public on a weekly basis.

Speaking about Aishwarya, Abhishek recalls a particularly difficult scene in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehena, where he had to hold his father’s picture and tell Rani that he is no more. The scene was emotionally so tough to handle that he broke down and watching him, Karan, too, started crying. Micky (contractor) took him for a long drive after that where he opened up and confessed that he was in love with Aishwarya – which was way before they even started dating.

Abhsihek says, “Aishwarya is my anchor. She is my buddy, my closest friend. I can discuss anything with her. Our relationship is not based on her being Aishwarya Rai or me coming from an illustrious family. It is just about two people falling in love which has organically grown. We started during Guru. It was meant to be.”
