Andy Bird scoops second entrepreneur award

Serial entrepreneur Andy Bird is celebrating after being named a Scottish winner at Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of The Year awards last night, 19 June. The win is the businessman’s second personal recognition in the past year, having been named Entrepreneur of The Year at the Grampian Awards for Business Excellence last summer.

Andy was victorious in the technology-focused element of the awards, for companies either selling or using it to develop and grow. The awards areheld in high esteem in more than 60 countries worldwide and to be a selected winner among the talent shortlisted in the Scottish region was a proud moment for Andy.

Andy commented: “To be shortlisted alongside such successful entrepreneurs is an honour in itself and to win the award in the technology category is an absolute delight. “My largest business, Inoapps, has grown steadily since 2006. As well as adding to our existing presence in Europe and expanding into Asia and the USA, the company is firmly on track to achieve its corporate growth goal of £50million turnover in 2015 (50 in 15).

“I also enjoy the successes of my other businesses, Recover Waste and Microvive which add a great deal of diversity to my working day.” The win comes at an exciting time for Inoapps, which has been shortlisted in the Business Success Over Three Years category for the Grampian Awards for Business Excellence, taking place next week.

Andy concluded: “I want to keep providing opportunities for new talent by continually driving growth in my portfolio of businesses, my ultimate aim is to create sustainable companies that will thrive for years to come.”
