Nowadays Hollywood has increasingly featured a number of young adult movies that are as exciting as the next. While most of them are based on popular books, the Young adult genre has become a permanent place amongst teenagers and youngsters alike with the themes they explore and the characters as well.

 THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

The Hunger Games trilogy grabbed eyeballs ever since its first films released. The second installment of the franchise ‘the Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ upped the drama and action from the first and is a must watch for all young adult fans! Based on Author Suzanne Collin’s  mega-popular series of novels, Catching Fire details protagonist Everdeen having won the Hunger Games, returns home but realizes the battle for a democratic state has just begun and that another set of pivotal games is about to happen.

THE DIVERGENT

The Divergent series of books by Veronica Roth set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian Chicago telling the tale of a society that is defined by personality traits. The first film gained a huge fan following for its high octane action and star cast. The film showcases a world divided by factions where Tris learns she's Divergent and won't fit in. As she tries to hide her own true self, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before its too late.

MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS

A sequel to the well-performing Maze Runner, this second installment Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is far bigger than its predecessor as it showcased the group back again in danger as they make their way across a parched land full of danger and ruin. With intriguing new characters, the film is a blockbuster film worth watching. The film will be premiering in India on Star Movies on 23^rd October at 1pm and 9pm.

PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF

Based on the "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" series by Rick Riordan, the film tells the tale of  a boy who discovers he's the descendant of Poseidon and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods.

THE GIVER

The Giver based on Lois Lowry's dystopian young adult novel of the same name is a film that features a seemingly perfect community where a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the so real world.
