Kirana stores adopt new age OOH advertising

Small town fast food joint, Nalawade Samosewale sorts to Vritti i-Media’s advertising across the public address system of the Kankavali bus station of MSRTC. The fast food joint owner opted audio advertising on bus stands over TV ads as he was convinced that the medium guaranteed 100 % listenership and shall also give him the much needed popularity & subsequent results in the business.
 
Gone are the days when only established corporate used to shell out a big chunk of profits on advertising and marketing. Local shop owners like the Parag Nalawade, Nalawade Samosewale have also realized the significance of advertising in the current times and hence have started sparing money for advertising the small fast food centre that he owns.
 
At Kankavli bus station in Sindhudurg district, audio-jingles of Nalawade Samosewale can be heard narrating the mouth watering delicacies of Jumbo Wada, Punjabi Samosa, Misal Pav and Mix Puri Bhaji. The ad is played at least 25-30 times per day.
 
Nalawade says, “I had heard ads of banks, automobile and others at Kankavali bus station. It sounded very peculiar. Most of the commuters waiting for buses were intrigued. They heard those ads attentively and in fact later on started discussing about it among themselves.” On the very same day, he decided to use this audio platform of Public Announcement System for advertising.  He shares, “I had option of doing advertisement either on TV or on PA system. I opted for PA, as one can hear ads on move. Bus station is one such spot where people come from whole district. And after listening to ads they go back home and do mouth publicity.”
 
Unlike traditional media platform opted by various sectors, this Samosa and Misal Pav shop owner has dared to opt new age of outdoor advertising platform. Nalawade is not the only one who has opted for audio advertising at transit route in Maharashtra. All small and large shop owners across Maharashtra have jumped upon the bandwagon. The local dealers dealing in sectors like Banking and Finance, Telecom, FMCG, Insurance, Apparel, OTC, Seeds, Fertilizers, Government, Food, Education and Retail businesses at town level have chosen the new age audio-advertising media platform.
 
Sharing some insights from the changing trends, Veerendra Jamdade, CEO, Vritti i-Media says, “Since the campaign was designed to increase visibility of the fast food joint, the shop owner is very happy with the visibility Nalawade Samosewale has received through the medium. The client has in fact renewed the contract further. We are increasingly getting pro active enquiries from local businessmen for advertising on this medium. This certainly indicates a huge potential for advertising on PA systems in the near future.”
 
Thousands of retail clients in state are already using audio platform for more than four years. To name a few, retail clients like Chaudhary Furniture, Kanak Agro Pipes, Dwarkadas Shamkumar, Shubhsanket Cloth, Trimurti Foods, Mangal Vastralaya, Baheti Machinery Stores, Supreme Gold Pipe, Balaji Mobiles, Priyadarshni Cloth Centre are using the audio platform for relaying ads in the form of audio-jingles, as they have understood the significance of consumer connect through advertising.
