Kunzum Hosts Event on Convergence of Marketing and PR

Kunzum's Gurgaon outlet hosted an event featuring CommsAdda and Kunzum titled 'Navigating the Convergence of Marketing and PR' on Saturday, 24th February. The event was attended by advertising, branding, publishing, and communication professionals.

Kunzum's creator, Ajay Jain, shared Kunzum's brand success story, and the discussion covered new-age public relations, the evolving role of corporate communication, and blurring the lines between PR and marketing.
As data has become more readily available and the internet has expanded its reach, and smartphones have become more common, the communication landscape has been transformed.

A modern corporate communications function is agile, multidisciplinary, and data-driven, characterized by a multifaceted outreach strategy post-pandemic. Today's role encompasses a fusion of earned, paid, owned, and shared media, with digital and social media outreach playing an integral role in all communication campaigns.

Ajay Jain, Author, Traveler, Photographer, and Founder - Kunzum Books, “The #CommsAdda meet-up at Kunzum was everything it promised and more,” he said. As a repository of stories in the books we stock and sell, Kunzum was the perfect place to bring together the best of corporate storytellers. Our goal at Kunzum is to make it a place for conversations and a community of communities, which prompted this event."

The co-originator of CommsAdda, Mrinall Dey, said, "Jerry Seinfeld once said a bookstore was the only sign that people were still thinking." Kunzum is a living example of Seinfeld's saying. In light of that, #CommsAdda and Ajay Jain, the creator of Kunzum, have joined forces to launch a series of interactive sessions exploring the changing landscape of PR and marketing.”

“This alliance between Kunzum and CommsAdda epitomizes a fusion of inventive arenas and communication proficiency, giving attendees the opportunity to take part in thought-provoking colloquies within a lively setting. Kunzum's bookstores in Delhi and Gurgaon were the sites of these incidents on February 24 and March 2,” Mrinall added further.

“Books remain a cornerstone of our lives in a digitally driven world,” says Tanmana Rath, Lead Communication and stakeholder Engagement at TERI. I had the opportunity to attend the inaugural session organized by #CommsAdda and #Kunzum on Saturday evening, which served as a powerful testament to the timeless relevance of reading books. The exchange of insights was enriching, emphasizing the connection between these two fields. Amidst the warm & relaxed ambiance and the backdrop of carefully curated books, the evening unfolded with engaging conversations.”

Ena Chakravorty, VP- Communications, PR, Digital & CSR, “As communication professionals, the best we can do is communicate. And what better than brainstorming and discussing the nuances of our profession with peers who bring diverse experiences and perspectives. Last Saturday evening the discussion spanned across a broad spectrum from how PR and marketing are today the new collab, the evolving Marcom function, comms adding value by aligning to the business goals to the function having come long way with comms getting a seat at the board/ leadership tables and more. As a storyteller, what added to the evening’s glory was Ajay Jain’s journey. Truly inspiring! Makes you relook at your passion and dreams.”

Tilak Amitava Chowdhury, Senior Marcom Specialist, “Last Saturday, it was interesting to attend a session on the blurring lines between PR and Marketing organized by #CommsAdda in association with Kunzum. It was great to hear some of the best minds in the business discussing the topic, in the company of books. We humans love a good story and as marketing/ PR professionals, we are constantly creating stories that connect people and enrich lives. So, my takeaway from the session was, in a global market where consumerism has fulfilled most of our needs, we need better storytelling abilities to connect more like minded people and who can buy and promote our products and services.”
