Now I think ten times before attempting any crazy stunts: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff have launched the trailer of their action entertainer, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. The film is directed and co-produced by Ali Abbas Zafar along with Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Dipshikha Deshmukh. The movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chillar, Alaya F. and others.

Akshay will be seen performing some crazy actions stunts in this film once again.  When asked about his most thrilling action scene, he said, “The biggest action sequence that I have done in my life was when I had to stand on an airplane – I had to run alongside a moving plane on the runway, catch it, and climb and stand on top of it and then jump on to a hot-air balloon! I think it was really insane at that time. I was crazy to have done something that I should not have done. But I tried it once in my life to test myself and thank God, I was safe. It was a 70-30 chance – there was 70% chance that I wouldn’t survive, and 30% chance that I would survive. It was that difficult. I would never do it again now and I have been told not to repeat it.”

“Now, I have become a bit rational and I think ten times before attempting something like that. I have to preserve myself, it is not about doing crazy things, but about my safety first. Earlier, if we were jumping from a chopper, there wouldn’t be any mattresses below, we would just jump on the runway and end up hurting our legs. It was the worst. But now, safety has become the main concern and insurance is there, so now things have changed. My job at the moment is to preserve myself and keep myself healthy, that’s it.”

Akshay has had a lukewarm box office response for his previous few films, but he is quite hopeful that ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ would do well. “I am keeping my fingers crossed, I hope this film does well. We keep on trying with every type of films. I don’t stick to one kind of genre. I keep on jumping from one genre to another, whether or not there is success. I have always done that since the beginning of my career and nothing has stopped me. I will keep doing that. Whether the film deals with social issues or is a comedy or an action thriller – I will always keep on doing different films,” he said.

Continuing further, Akshay added, “I won’t be sticking to one kind of thing just because people say, ‘Sir, aaj kal comedy and action bahut chal rahe hai’. It doesn’t mean I should only do action. I myself start getting bored if I do one kind of thing. Whether it was ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ or ‘Airlift’ or ‘Rustom’ or many other films that I have done; sometimes the movie is successful and sometimes it is not.”

Akshay said, “It is not that I have not seen such a phase, there was a time when I had continuous 16 flops in one row in my career. But I stood there and kept on doing work and I’ll still do that. This is one film this year for which we all have done lots of hard work and now we are going to see the results and we hope that this is going to bring good luck to all of us.”

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is set to release on Eid this year, along with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’.
