The Oscar® journey begins with the premiere of Birdman on Star Movies and Star Movie Select HD on 6th February

Some stories make you wonder, some amaze you and some others leave you questioning your own purpose of life. Starting the Oscar month of February will be one of the most critically acclaimed title, loved by the Academy – Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)on 6^th Feb at 6:30 PM, simulcast on Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD.

The brilliance of this movie was given its due recognition at the 87th Academy Awards, as Birdman won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. What better way to usher in The Oscars® that will be a simulcast Live on Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD on 29^th Feb at 5:30AM and repeat at 8:30PM.

With Michael Keaton in the lead among a cast that includes Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts, the dark comedy follows the story of a middle aged actor at a crossroads in his career looking to make his ‘big comeback’. 

The marketing idea for the premiere of Birdman will be adapted from the idea of the film that focuses on the protagonist’s tussle with his alter ego. The idea will let the followers of Star Movies to express a side of themselves that’s never seen before. Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD has the largest collection of award winning titles. In the run-up to the Oscars, Star Movies and Star Movies Select HD will be airing the movies that were nominated and appreciated at the Academy Awards over the years.
