Third angle to the print war?!

While India prepares to welcome the festival of lights and sparkle, the print industry is surely in for some fire-crackers! As the Hindustan Times – Times of India fire still simmers, another leading publication seems to be joining the game.

The Hindu has released a quirky and witty response to the on-going tussle between HT and TOI, asking the reader to ‘Keep Calm and read The Hindu’ statement.

While HT and TOI have been taking pot shots on each other for a while now with claims and counter claims, The Hindu, observers’ state is trying to divert the attention by making such statements. The other observation states that the other intention could be while in the past, The Hindu has posed itself as the ‘more responsible and judicious’ player in the game, this move also shows that the publisher is reiterating this sentiment while wearing a shield of ‘fun’!

As Adgully reported earlier that, with the festive season round the corner and spends being decided by the marketers, this tussle may be a concern for both publishers and advertisers. However, this move by The Hindu has now brought in question marks as do we see this print war getting a third angle or is it just a one-time communiqué from the Southern publisher in the wake of gaining marketers attention.

It would be interesting to know as to where and how would this print war travel. Keep watching this space for more as we at Adgully continue to keep an eye on this tussle.
