TIMES NOW & DuPont's The Power of Shunya - 'Quest for Zero' Season 2 Explores The Power Of Innovation in India

The second season of the inspiring Television series The Power of Shunya: Quest for Zero, in its quest to explore inventive modern day solutions and establish the fact that science-driven solutions can tackle some of the critical challenges facing India, showcased some brilliant innovations addressing challenges like Pollution, Healthcare and Education.

Agriculture has been engrained in our history for over 10 thousand years now. India is the second largest producer of wheat, rice, and sugarcane. However, 27% of the world’s underfed and undernourished people live in India (UN fact). Urbanization, population increase, and income growth is driving the demand for food, while lack of available information, stress on natural resources and climate change is increasingly constraining supply. Episode 4 of the Quest for Zero promises to outline the need for innovation in the agricultural sector to hold a balance between the demand and supply, in order to transform India’s agricultural sector.

Episode 5 will address the issue of climate change the world is facing today, and solutions offered by the means of science and innovation to redress it. Most of our everyday activities contribute to polluting greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere while our cities are getting choked with rampant mindless construction. Energy efficiency, Climate Change and sustainable development are becoming buzz words in the world that we live in today, however a clear focus  on sustainable innovations and a bit of change in our mindset can be a tectonic shift in our attitude towards our planet.
