Upen Rai & Sandeep Amar bid adieu to Indiatimes!

Upen Rai, Director, Sales and Sandeep Amar, Head of Marketing, at Indiatimes  have put in their papers at Indiatimes. Satyan Gajwani, CEO at Indiatimes informed his employees about the development through an internal e-mail.
 
Senior officials at Indiatimes have confirmed this development to Adgully.
 
Changes will also be seen in product teams in the organization. Avinash Mudaliar will now be in charge of Gaana.com, Rajat Dev will be handling the horizontal design function and Harshavardhan T will be working on Indiatimes IPL strategy and will simultaneously take charge of running Indiatimes.com. Harshavardhan and Dev will henceforth be reporting to Gautam Sinha, COO of Indiatimes. 
 
Recently when former CEO, Rishi Khiani’s exited the company, Satyan Gajwani took on his role  and in turn Gautam Sinha was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO).
 
Gajwani had  hinted about the restructuring of the company in a recent interview with a leading publication . Hence it can be seen that the change is in line with the new strategy.
 
Upen Rai had been with Indiatimes since  2001. He was earlier  Chief Operating Officer at Zoom. Among his earlier stints the noteworthy ones are with Times Group’s lifestyle television channel from 2004 to 2006, Buena Vista TV – Walt Disney and Zee TV.
 
Before joining Indiatimes in 2009 as Head Of Marketing and Audience, Sandeep Amar was with Times Group’s internet division in 2007, heading marketing at Times Business Solutions and leading Simplymarry.com and Ads2book.com. He has also worked with Zee Telefilms, Citigroup, and Hindustan Times.
 
Satyan Gajwani while wishing both Rai & Amar success in their new ventures also informed his employees about Indiatimes initiatives and process refinements and assures them of the rapid growth in the company, while delivering value to their consumers advertisers and shareholders. In his communication to his employees he indicates a bright future for them at Indiatimes.
