Vidya Balan visits Australia to launch the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2012

The program for the 2012 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne to be held from June 11 to 22 in Melbourne was launched by Ted Baillieu, the Premier the state of Victoria, Australia along with Indian film superstar and Festival Ambassador, Vidya Balan.
 
The festival is a key highlight on Victoria’s cultural and arts calendar and it is a great opportunity for Victorians to enjoy a unique film experience with films from nine languages across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka slated to be showcased during the festival. 
 
The program will feature 40 films and activities from India and the sub-continent including more than 20 Australian premieres, one world premiere and an amazing lineup of guests, including some of India’s biggest film stars who will be in Melbourne to open the festival. The festival encompasses the true spirit of the Indian film industry – right from mainstream Bollywood blockbusters through to more edgy new wave Hindi films, to regional gems in Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam and other languages. 
 
Representing India at the festival shall be prominent faces of the Indian film industry including Rituparno Ghosh, Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Rituparno Ghosh, Vicky Bahri, Kunal Kohli, Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, Sabyasachi Mukherjee & Jugal Hansraj. 
 
Among the Indian films to be screened at the festival are: Kahaani & Delhi Belly. 
 
Also, Kunal Kohli’s latest movie starring Shahid Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra – “Teri Meri Kahaani” – shall be hosting its world premiere at the festival.
