AB de Villiers’ revokes his bet with Scott Styris

JioCinema TATA IPL expert Scott Styris was wearing a Royal Challengers Bengaluru jersey for the last five Royal Challengers Bengaluru matches because of a lost bet to AB de Villiers. Since the bet, Bengaluru has lost every match where Styris has worn the jersey. 69% of the viewers who participated in JioCinema’s fan poll requested Styris to take the jersey off. The former Kiwi all-rounder made it clear on Match Centre Live that he would do the same if de Villiers voided the bet.

"I will throw an olive branch to RCB fans. If the great AB de Villiers lets me off, because I lost the bet, I have to wear the shirt every RCB game for the rest of the tournament. If AB de Villiers says I can take my shirt off to change the fortune and the luck of RCB, I'll do it."

Styris and de Villiers made the bet over the Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru game from earlier this season where if RCB won, Stryis would have to wear a team shirt on-air for all following RCB games. The former New Zealand international lived up to the bet. But as soon as De Villiers saw the clip, he asked to end the bet.

“Please stop wearing that shirt immediately!!!!”

This interaction happened just before RCB allowed the Sunrisers Hyderabad to score 287 runs in 20 overs, a new TATA IPL record. Styris was wearing the shirt on Match Centre Live during the game as well, but with the bet finally being revoked, RCB fans will be excited to see if their fortunes changed.
