ABP and Gillette Guard join hands to transform lives of Bengal's youths

In West Bengal, students from the districts usually do disproportionately well in the school leaving Board examinations.  However, post college education, when they prepare for various jobs and interviews they tend to falter due to lack of proper grooming.  Keeping this scenario in mind, Gillette Guard and ABP have come up with an initiative ‘Safalyo Haather Muthoy’ to help college students from the Bengal districts to ace interviews with ease and then go on to have successful careers.

It is an initiative to groom the youth from the districts of Bengal and make them more confident by making them appear presentable and prepared. Those eager to try their luck at corporate houses after their graduation from the districts of Bengal, gets an opportunity to fulfill their dreams. They often get stuck at the interviews owing to their low self-confidence. This initiative promises to bridge that gap.

Understanding that proper guidance will help these brilliant young minds to come out with flying colours in every situation, grooming workshops have been arranged. This is a 6-week on-going programme in 12 districts of Bengal covering 70 colleges across West Midnapore, Nadia, Murshidabad, Bankura, Birbhum, North& South-24 Parganas, Burdwan, North & South Dinajpur, Darjeeling and Malda.

To address the grooming needs of young individuals and to make them aware of potential career opportunities, we have partnered with ABP group through the ‘Gillette Guard Safalyo Haather Muthoy Program’. The workshop is teaching college students ways to inculcate good grooming habits to look presentable, be confident and thus emerge winners in life. Through interactive media, group discussions the various aspects of grooming, making the right impression at the interview, the importance to look presentable are imparted. Participants are explained the concept of body language, the importance of posture in grooming, techniques of effectively managing meetings and interviews in various formal/ social situations, key pointers to CV preparation and how to excel at job interviews are discussed.

This will not only help him in interviews but will also impart key life skills.”

Apart from the in-college workshops conducted, a workshop for all in a centrally located venue per district is also organized. These workshops are attended by students who have not availed of the in-college workshop or pass outs.

The college bests will go through screening tests to be the top four among them. Four winners from the entire programme will be chosen based on written test, GD and PI to be offered a job in a corporate house in Calcutta. With this initiative, Gillette Guard and ABP hope to touch many young lives in Bengal and help fulfill their dreams.
