AkzoNobel adds coatings on India's first ever Formula-1 Grand Prix circuit

AkzoNobel, the world's largest paints and Coatings Company has supplied its protective coatings to the Buddh International Circuit, India's first-ever Formula-1 Grand Prix circuit, where the upcoming Formula-1 race will be held on October 30th, 2011.

Buddh International Circuit, originally known as Jaypee International Race Circuit in Greater Noida, has been designed by globally renowned German architect Hermann Tilke. The track spanning ~5.5 km in length has been designed as one of the fastest and most exciting circuits in the world. The Buddh International Circuit will now be the second-fastest on the calendar after Monza F1 circuit in Italy.

Protective Coatings from AkzoNobel's globally acclaimed International Paint business have been chosen to paint the steel structure covering the "Grand Stand' with a total surface area of 30,000 sq. metres and steel tonnage of 1,200 tonnes.
