BARC Wk 18 ratings: Star Plus continues lead; top order unchanged

BARC ratings for Week 18 (April 29-May 5) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw no major changes in the rankings of the top 10 Hindi GECs. Star Plus continued its reign, even as two of its shows – ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ – featured in the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs. 

Star Plus continued in its numero uno spot amongst Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 18 as well, recording a gross viewership of 632,254, a decline from 640,266 recorded last week. Its show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ climbed up a notch to the third spot in Week 18 with 8,845 Impressions (000s). Another of its shows, ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’, made a re-entry in the fifth spot, garnering 7,050 Impressions (000s). 

Sony Pal, which surprised all by claiming the No. 1 spot in Week 13, continued to be placed in the second spot in Week 18. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 591,324, an increase from 577,002 recorded last week. 

Colors remained in the third spot this week as well, recording a gross viewership of 529,712, a further decline from 554,259 recorded in Week 17. ‘Naagin Season 2’ remained in the second spot in the list of most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, garnering 10,071 Impressions (000s). 

Zee TV, which had climbed up a notch to No. 4 in Week 17, remained in this spot this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 488,762, a decline from 527,739 recorded last week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban this week, garnering 10,812 Impressions (000s). Talent hunt show ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’, too, continued its good run and was placed at the third spot with 8,404 Impressions (000s). 

Rishtey, which had slid a notch to No. 5 last week, continued in this position in Week 18, garnering a gross viewership of 486,269, a decline from 509,513 recorded last week. 

Zee Anmol’s position too remained unchanged at No. 6. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 440,610, an increase from 435,289 recorded last week. 

Sony SAB, which had slipped a notch to No. 8 in Week 17, was back in the seventh spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 424,986, an increase from 410,493 recorded last week. 

On the other hand, Star Utsav slipped a notch to No. 8 in Week 18, garnered a gross viewership of 378,777, a decline from 428,772 recorded last week. 

Life OK, which had climbed up a notch to No. 9 last week, remained in this position in Week 18 as well, registering a decline in its gross viewership – from 368,892 in Week 17 to 348,821 this week. 

Sony Entertainment Television, which had slipped a notch to be placed in the tenth spot in Week 17, continued in this spot this week as well. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 344,598, an increase from 340,780 recorded last week.
