From SRK-Kajol to Govinda-Raveena, Big screen duos that rule our heart

Over the years Bollywood has gifted us several stories that have inspired us in many ways. Narrating these stories are often a bunch of talented actors who can make us laugh and cry at the same time and more importantly show us the meaning of true love. 

One of the biggest attractions in any movie has been the lead couple on-screen and this month Sony MAX and Sony MAX2 is celebrating the timeless tales of these couples who have made us fall in love with love - time and again.  

Amitabh & Hema Malini in Baghban

You can’t deny that how ‘Main yahan tu wahan’ an endearing song crooned by Amitabh Bachchan over the phone to Hema Malini on screen brings tears to our eyes even today.  The song is sung by Amitabh himself and Alka Yagnik. The successful duo- Amitabh and Hema playing middle-aged husband and wife separated through the aegis of their selfish offspring, certainly looked like a couple who share a deep bond. A bond that deepened with the passage of time. Amitabh and Hema make it a perfect pair that will not be forgotten for years. Baghban marked the collaboration of Hema Malini and Mr. Bachchan after a gap of 20 years after the 1983 film Nastik and continues to be a masterpiece in the genre of family entertainment. Govinda and Raveena in Ankhiyo Se Goli Mare

The iconic Akhiyo Se Goli Mare which ignited a lot of love stories in the 90s is still considered to be the epitome of young love. No matter how many re-makes filmmakers introduce, Govinda and Ravina will continue to rule our hearts forever. The film is a family entertainer filled with humor and lots of drama. The movie will be remembered as one of the most entertaining love stories between Ravvena and Govinda where the later actually disguises as a Don to impress Raveena's father. Aamir and Kareena in 3 Idiots

2009’s blockbuster hit film 3 Idiots is still close to our heart for its motivating storyline and super amazing songs. The hilarious banter between Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor that continue throughout the film makes it a worth watch. The way film portrays a romantic relationship during college days and yet maintains a line makes it a must-watch family entertainer. The love story that had a disastrous start simply grows throughout the film in a matter best described by the lyrics of one its song "Jaisa Filmo Mein Hota Hai Ho Raha Hai Hubahu". Cute dialogues and moments such as "Kiss karte samay naak beech may nahi aati idiot!" and a drunk Pia (Kareena Kapoor) in Aamir's boy's hostel room will make you fall in love with this pair all over again. Sharing a sizzling chemistry onscreen, the Mohabbatein pair SRK & Aishwarya garnered positive reviews from the critics and the audience alike.
