Indian Cricket bounces back; Viewership surges over last Ind-Eng series

The first ODI between India and England has garnered a combined viewership of 3.14 (CS Male ABC 15+). This is 13% more than the average ratings of the England ' India ODI series in August 2011 (Combined Viewership ' 2.79, CS Male ABC 15+)

The ongoing series has been aptly branded as the "Payback Series" and India's complete dominance in the first 2 ODIs augurs well for the cricket season at home. The Indian team is back to its winning ways and the cricket fan will have plenty to cheer for.

Traditionally, the viewership increases significantly after the opening game and with a clear rebound in the viewer sentiments towards the team, the remaining matches will generate high interest and higher viewership.

Prasana Krishnan, COO, NEO Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd said ' "Based on the viewership numbers of the opening game, we have increased the guidance of the combined viewership to 5+, especially since the last 2 ODIs are on a holiday. The T20 match on a Saturday can even garner an 8+ rating."
