Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar' to highlight issues of divorced couples

While many television shows have dealt with the sensitive relationship of a husband and wife, it still remains the most obvious source for creative writers to develop more shows. Sony Entertainment Television’s new offering ‘Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar’ is also based on the delicate relationship of a husband and a wife, with a different taste however.

Presented by Ekta Kapoor, ‘Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar’, from the looks of the first promo, highlights the idea that while the relationship of a husband and a wife can end, that of a mother and father cannot. The story revolves around a divorced couple (played by Ronit Roy and Pallavi Kulkarni), where Ronit has moved on after 15 years of divorce while Pallavi is still at the same place.

Speaking about his role in this show Ronit Roy said, “It has been a very different role. When I was offered this role, I said yes immediately because I really like the script. The role somewhere is similar to my real life as well. I have been married twice and today I have not seen my first daughter grow as much I have seen my second daughter”.

Commenting on the same Pallavi Kulkarni said, “Our characters are very sensitive, while it is very easy for him to forget everything; I have still not forgotten the past, because I have raised two children. The character is a different one for me personally, as in reality; I am not like that; I generally move on with things easily”

Both the actors are excited to work with Ekta Kapoor; not only because of bagging the lead roles, but also because the show promises to be a blend of emotions and a different story line as compared to the typical ‘Saas Bahu’ story line that comes out of the Balaji stable.

Speaking about her comeback Kulkarni said, “I’m very glad that I can now get back to my television career. My family and in laws have been very supportive about the same, especially because now I’m a mother. It was a very wise decision. I have in fact consulted a few people before I actually took the decision of returning”.

While Kulkarni is concentrating only on this show, Roy is also doing KD Pathak and Aap ki Adalat in the television space and has two upcoming movies - Guddu Rangeela and another due next year. | By: Archit Ambekar | Twitter: @aambarchit
