Joint venture that includes Amazon designates Atul Gawande as CEO
Atul Gawande a surgeon who practices at Brigham and Women’s Hospital has been chosen by Amazon-JP Morgan-Berkshire Hathway as CEO of their new healthcare venture. He has accepted the responsibility and will begin working from July. The organisation will work independently as a NGO in the healthcare sector.
The Indian-American doctor is thrilled to be working in this new venture and remarked that it would take a lot of time and work to fix the healthcare system. A professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, and staff writer for the New Yorker, Gawande has four New York Time Bestsellers to his credit.
