Obituary | Percept Rural's Rajesh Amla passes away

Rajesh Amla, Business Head, Percept Rural passed away on the evening of 22nd December . Amla met with a fatal accident on the Delhi-Chandigarh highway as he was on his way for a vacation with his family. His sister too succumbed to the injury while his wife is currently recovering at the hospital.

Amla had a degree in MBA from the University of Lucknow and had worked for companies like Kores Limited, United Express Service Private Limited, VOW Ltd, Rural Eight, APCA (Asia Pacific Communications Associates Pvt. Ltd) and Infinity Advertising Services where he worked on brand campaigns for Airtel, HBO launch and Nokia.

Amla's career has spanned over 24 years and the latest he was seen was with Percept Out-Of-Home, he looked after the rural marketing unit. The division was very often in news recently for its efforts in getting brands' notice to the emerging rural markets. Amla was responsible in launching many leading brands and creating a success story of various start-up businesses. His very well known and much talked about intiatives were rural solution concepts for political parties in 1998 and 1999.
