Radio One posts a loss of Rs 35.8 mn

Radio channel Radio One, a joint product of Mid Day Multimedia and BBC, has posted a loss Rs 35.8 million for the quarter second qurter.

The operating loss has increased from the year-ago period of Rs 29.4 million, as Radio One added the cost of its Kolkata station into the expenses.

Revenue remained flat at Rs 80.3 million, same as the previous year's second quarter.

Radio One operates FM radio stations in seven metros ' Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune

On a consolidated basis, Mid Day Multimedia has posted a net loss of Rs 6.9 million, as compared to a net loss of Rs 196.5 million. The net income of the company, however, slid 14.16 per cent to Rs 300.1 million, as against Rs 349.6 million a year ago.
