Snapdeal appoints Anand Chandrasekaran as Chief Product Officer
Snapdeal, India’s largest online marketplace, today announced the appointment of Anand Chandrasekaran for the role of Chief Product Officer. Anand most recently served as Chief Product Officer at Bharti Airtel, where he was responsible for product conceptualization, design and delivery as well as driving strategic technology partnerships, driving product strategy and roadmap for Wynk Music, Airtel Money, API products etc. as well as product and operations for Airtel Online, an e-commerce service, and MyAirtel app with over 28 million monthly users and over USD1 billion in annual GMV.

Previously Anand was with Yahoo, where he held roles of Sr. Director of Search Products and member of search leadership as well as Sr. Director for Mobile. He led the mobile product and engineering teams to build next generation mobile experiences, product growth, monetization, content discovery and personalisation for products like Mobile Search, Y! TimeTraveler and Yahoo! Answers.
Prior to Yahoo, Anand was Director of Product at Openwave driving product management for the mobile mediation gateway which touched 200Mn subscribers (through 70 operators) and generated USD 150Mn in revenue. Earlier, he co-founded Aeroprise Inc.; under Anand's leadership Aeroprise became the most-deployed solution worldwide for mobile service management, raised USD7M in funding and was later acquired by BMC Software.
In 2010, he was named by World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, a community of outstanding leaders committed to impacting the future.
Anand holds a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Communications Engineering from PSG College of Technology.
