What to look forward to at the GOAFEST this year?

The advertising and marketing industry’s apex convention, Goa Fest is all geared up for an action-packed 3 days. Amidst the conferences, master classes and knowledge sessions, Mpower, a pioneer in Indian mental healthcare will be setting up a workshop named Ignite that will talk about mindfulness – and its importance in this industry.

The mindfulness workshop is specifically designed for people with busy schedules. When it comes to having a to-do list full of heavy-hitter items, one probably feels more erratic than accomplished. Being more mindful will help the advertising and marketing professionals, specially because everyday is a hectic day. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we're sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future. This workshop aims to create an understanding of the philosophy and science of mindfulness by using techniques to overcome stress and explore one self. -  During the workshop, a strong emphasis is placed on building a regular habit to enhance capacity to access inner resources for learning, growing, and healing.

Commenting on this the facilitator, Parveen Shaikh, Head – Outreach & Collaborations, Mpower said, “Through the Ignite workshop we aim to reach out to the working professionals attending this festival and explain the importance of mindfulness. In an industry like this, where deadlines are more than often short, and creativity needs to be at its peak – professionals need to take a step back and evaluate their mental well-being. We hope that this year at the Goa fest, advertising and marketing professionals not only better their professional skills, but also take away the art of mindfulness.”

The brainchild of Mrs. Neerja Birla, Mpower was launched three years ago, and has been at the forefront to affect change and proactively champion the cause of mental health, create awareness, advocate prevention and provide services with a professional, holistic and multi-disciplinary approach in the country.
