K Jayaraman bids adiue to Hathway; joins Zee as head of distribution and placement

K Jayaraman who was former CEO and MD at Hathway has resigned from the company and subsequently joined Zee  as head of its distribution and placement business . He will be reporting to Puneet Goenka , Managing Director and CEO, Zee, effective 12th March 2013. Deepti Verma has been leading the initiatives for distribution and placements at Zee since quite some time now. She will now be reporting to K Jayaraman.

In his new role at Zee, Jayaraman will advise the directors on the board of Media Pro  to maximise revenue for the distribution company. Media Pro is a joint venture between Star Den and Zee

Turner. This venture creates efficiencies in the distribution sector, builds incentives to motivate digitization and also addresses piracy issues in the country.
During his 15 year stint  at Hathway   he worked in different capacities which included Director, Vice Chairman and CEO. Under his able leadership Hathway's cable and satellite connections increased from less than 5,00,000 homes to almost 10 million.

Originally a Chartered Accountant he began is career in 1987 and was a project officer at ICICI. Post his short stint at CitiCorp Securities he joined Hathway  and worked with other Hathway Group of companies such as H&R Johnson and Asianet Satellite Communications.

Jagdish Kumar has succeeded K Jayaraman as MD and CEO at Hathway after the latter’s resignation from the company.
