95% of publishers have filled online application for rate renewal: MIB

The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), has stated that 95% of print publishers have filed the online application for rate renewal of newspapers and periodicals in the window provided.

The CBC had issued two advisories dated 04.07.2023 and 04.08.2023, whereby all publishers were informed to apply online for the rate renewal.

The CBC further said that it had received requests from some publishers, who had not been able to file the renewal application during the prescribed period due to “genuine and unavoidable reasons”. In view of these requests, CBC has decided to extend the period for filing the renewal application between 25.08.2023 and 31.08.2023.
