Aamir Khan promises to make more films under his banner on his birthday

Aamir Khan has turned 59 today, like every year the actor celebrated his birthday with the media and the cast of his recently released film ‘Laapataa Ladies’. His ex-wife and director of the film Kiran Rao was present on this occasion.

Interacting with the media, Aamir had all praise for his latest production venture and said, "Thank you for coming every year to wish me and put forward my views in front of everyone. You help me to connect with my audience. I want to celebrate this year with Kiran and her team of ‘Laapataa Ladies’ because they have made such a beautiful film for us, Aamir Khan Productions. According to me from ‘Lagaan’ till today, we have completed 23 years and this is one of the films which we are very proud of. It is a wonderful film, it shows fundamentals of human nature, emotions and family, it shows all positive things. Thanks to Kiran for making this film. It is my birthday and it is my wish that you should go and watch this film in a theatre that will be the best gift for me. You have supported this film and I am thankful for that. In future we will make such films and want you to support them too. The kind of love and reviews it has received, we are so happy about it. On this special day I want to thank all of you.”

Kiran Rao says, “Actually I am overwhelmed with the kind of love the film is getting. Audiences have sent me beautiful and lovely messages. I am very grateful for the opportunity and that film has worked for people. I just hope whoever has not seen it ,they see it as it is still in theatre. It reaches where we hope it will reach to all homes, young girls .all women out there. The message keeps spreading."

On the work front, Aamir is currently shooting for his film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ with Darsheel Safary, Genelia Deshmukh. The film is directed by R.S. Prasanna. He is also going to be producing yet another film ‘Lahore 1947’, under his banner, which will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. It will feature Sunny Deol, Priety Zinta, Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi, Abhimayu Singh and Karan Deol.
