Actress Anjali Anand on trying different genre with ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’

On this she says: “My dad Dinesh Anand was a former actor in Hindi films. I was very young when my dad passed away, but I remember coming home and seeing Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and all these people at home all the time. They were very good friends with my father. I do remember being on sets or at those parties with him. Before I was an actor, I was a choreographer for eight years. I used to choreograph performances in wedding functions.”

Anjali talks about how her plus size gave her some hard times in the industry. “I have participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi and yes it helped to the fact that how it works. But I was totally freaked out when I first faced the stunts. I'm am an actor who is used to read scripts and act. I felt insecure and quite out of the place. I was scared of all the daredevil stunts. Jhalak team welcomed me nicely and the whole vibes on set were wonderful. People who are concerned about how I am going to dance should first watch me in the show and then decide. I have never differentiated platforms, for me work is important. Post Rocky Rani, I plan on shooting other films, but when I got an offer from Jhalak I grabbed that because I love dancing. I am sure the world will see a different flavour of mine.”
