In conversation with Adgully, Anshul Gupta speaks about the skills that he brings to the table, his mantra for building a successful career, his desire to work as an investor with brands, ad more.

What particular skill sets do you think you bring to the table?

I would like to say that I’m a jack of all trades, there are so many things that I bring to the table which are impromptu, and I like to explore things the unconventional way – be it cost optimisation, getting new strategies, cross collaborations, quick turnaround time, striking and getting job done. to name a few.

How did you join your current organisation?

Being a founder, I did start with the events industry, slowly stepping into marketing for brands basically, from ideating to execution to managing artists globally.

Do you think a career in this field is a viable one in the long term?

Career in any field is viable if you are innovative. Things do die if you’re not progressing with time, but if you’re open to learn and keep exploring, no career can ever lose its charm.

We are living in a world where there are self start cars and there’s no need for drivers, but still drivers are there. So, I don’t think that a career in this field is not a viable one in the long term.

What does it take to succeed in a career?

Smart work, consistency, persistence, the will to learn and being open to suggestions are what I feel are necessary in order to get success in a career. And you should love whatever you do.

What would be your advice to youngsters planning to enter this industry?

My advice would be , don’t enter into this field if you’re being starstruck about what others post on their social media, but enter with a little background check, and if you’re really inclined towards strategy, branding or artists management. You should know what you’re doing and why you’re doing, rather than just doing as I’ve seen, a lot of people in this field are working, but still they are not very much clear about the basics.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I don’t plan for 5 years or 10 years. I keep my goals to be short and crisp. I believe in doing small basic things on a daily basis very carefully and big things would start falling in place.

Although, I would like to have a strong global presence of our company in the next 4-5 years, doing amazing work and taking India’s name to great heights.

Is there any organisation that you would like to work with in the future?

I would like to work as an investor with quite a few brands in the upcoming times.
