Adgully turns 3 | 3 Most hyped and publicised product launches!

With most markets of the world getting cluttered, a new business and marketing strategy that has been most rapidly adopted is ‘keep the product under wraps, keep curiosity alive, and lt rumours do the talking’! At the third anniversary, we at Adgully take a look at 3 of the most hyped and publicised product launches of 2012 tell date.

One of the most publicized product launches that wooed, confused and engaged the audience was the launch of AXE Shower Gel which was promoted through MTV’s VJ Jose Kidnapped campaign that actually stirred the audience, especially YOUTH! VJ Rannvijay who was chosen as the negotiator by the channel had learnt that some women had kidnapped VJ Jose in exchange for the ransom to launch AXE Shower Gel in India. Apparently usage of the product evokes strong reactions from women towards men, bordering on vicious and violent. The buzz of VJ Jose getting kidnapped went viral on the platforms, not only Social media but print, television, YouTube etc.

Before iPhone 5 there was something that created a lot of buzz among the ‘tech savy’ consumers in India. Yes, it was Samsung’s Galaxy S’3. It runs the latest version of Google’s Android operating system - Ice Cream Sandwich. This is overlaid with Touchwiz Nature UX, the latest version of Samsung’s skin, adding special widgets and access to Samsung’s apps and book stores. It’s simple enough to use with some really cool features, such as the ability to miniaturise the screen when watching a movie so you can carry on watching while you type an email, for example. It might sound gimmicky, but you'll use it much more than you think. Staying true to its commitment, Samsung Galaxy S3was worth the hype and is acclaimed to be Samsung’s best handset to date.

Finally, not the most surprising but the most awaited and hyped launch came with Apple happened three days back. Apple’s iPhone5 which was surrounded with so much hype and publicity actually ensued with a buzz all over Twitter. The phone is claimed to be one of the thinnest of its kind, but was not appreciated by critics though. Apple, which is all set to challenge competition is out with one of its kind product; it is taller, leaner, lighter, and shinier and packs in much more punch than ever before.

Consequently, as per the data, more than 1.3 million tweets were posted on Wednesday that mentioned the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 may hold the record for the thinnest smartphone in the world according to Apple, but it wasn't enough to shatter Twitter records. | By Ankita Tanna [ankita(at)adgully.com] & Aanchal Kohli [aanchal(at)adgully.com]
