Akhil Vaid talks about his role in Yash Patnaik's Gauna!

Akhil Vaid is happy to play the character of Shlok in Gauna: Ek Pratha. The show is being produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik.
“My character name is developing now. In short, I just know that Shlok is not on good terms with his sister Urvashi and his family. There are several layers to him. Things will be out soon,” says The actor, who reaches the set before time and takes 20 minutes to change and make up.
Since it’s been two days that he started working on the show, Akhil will take some time to understand things better. “My expectations from the show is that my character Shlok should be able to create a place in the minds and hearts of the audience so that they don’t forget me and my character ever. The USP of the show is the story, the performances… actors, who are a part of the show, are experienced and passionate about their parts,” he adds.
Any interesting incidents from the set? “I gel well with my younger brother Ronnie and my father, Mahindra in the show,” he replies. Praising the Patnaik’s, he says, “This is one production house that I have been looking forward to collaborating with. I hope to work with them again in some very big, larger than life projects, web series and much more (smiles).”

The TV industry has evolved over the years. Reacting, he shares, “If TV has to go a long way then it has to be content-driven and every character has to be specific in terms of the role so that the audience should get something new. These days viewers want surprises in the story, they don’t enjoy predictable plot and for TV shows, it shub be made on strong content and strong production quality and a finite series is something that appeals to most.”
OTT has given competition to TV. Agreeing, he adds, “Yes, 100%. OTT has given competition to bollywood films as well. Look at the kind of content they are offering,” says Akhil, who enjoys working hard. He is a spiritual soul and that gives him focus and energy to work harder and not get too tired, sleepy or hungry.
