Amita Maheshwari Steps Down from Kedaara Capital for Social Impact Mission

Amita Maheshwari, MD and Operating Director of Talent at Kedaara Capital, has announced her decision to leave the firm and transition into a new chapter of her life.
Her intention is to devote her time to philanthropic endeavors and contribute to the betterment of society and the industry. With her wealth of experience in nurturing talent, shaping organizational culture, and driving digital transformation in high-growth enterprises, she aims to build a social impact agenda.
Before her tenure at Kedaara Capital, Amita held prominent roles in renowned companies such as Star India and The Walt Disney Company. At Star India, she served as President and Head of HR before moving on to become the Head of HR for The Walt Disney Company and Star TV, including Disney Hotstar, across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and India regions for 14 years. In this capacity, she managed HR operations spanning 27 markets, including significant regions like India, China, Japan, and Korea.
Amita played a crucial role in overseeing the integration and transition phases during the Fox and Disney merger across the Asia-Pacific, India, and the Middle East. She also led the successful launch of Disney+ and Disney+Hotstar in 11 APAC markets, demonstrating her strategic acumen and operational leadership. Moreover, she was instrumental in the rollout of the OTT platform Hotstar in India under the guidance of Uday Shankar.
Throughout her illustrious 30-year career, Amita has contributed her expertise to various industries, including stints at Asian Paints, GE, Genpact, and MetLife Insurance. Her diverse experiences and leadership have left a significant impact on the organizations she has been a part of, and her departure from Kedaara Capital marks a transition towards fulfilling her passion for social impact and industry advancement.
