Apple app for Disney

Disney has introduced a new application to run on Apple's iPhone and iTouch called Click2Life. The application's USP is in its capability to take pictures of the real world and unlock unique content within the app. In the current state of things, users can simply take pictures of images on Disney's site from their iPhone and the Click2Life will convert the picture to a 3D image within the application.

However, the long road plan for Click2Life is to enable users to take pictures relating to Disney from the real world and allow the image to be processed by the application as a 3D image and unlock corresponding content and offers.

Apart from being an innovative photo technology, Click2Life features interactive sections like videos, games, a fragment dedicated to individual characters of Disney and live streaming of Disney's radio channel.

Disney has already experienced a surge in traffic coming through mobile and web-friendly devices and iPhone and iTouch form a major chunk of that traffic. Disney wanted to commit to this section of audience through a special application that wouldn't necessarily rely on a web connection.

There was a conscious decision to develop something with special attributes hence the idea of coming up with Click2Life. There are unique abilities attached to the development like the special camera and an accelerometer that identifies when the users rotate or shake their hand-held devices.
