Arjun Kapoor is bridging the Grade Barriers

Prime Video recently launched reality docu-series, Cinema Marte Dum Tak that has created a stir on the internet for its unabashed and truly insightful peek into Indian cinema’s golden era of films. Considered to be a cottage style filmmaking industry, the Amazon Original series focuses on showing what and who contributed to 90s Pulp Cinema, a genre of content that had strong and loyal fan following in its heydays. Star actor Arjun Kapoor who appears as a guest host in the 6-episode docu-series, too was in awe of these much-celebrated filmmakers – Dilip Gulati, J Neelam, Kishan Shah, Vinod Talwar, who were some of the then successful names of that industry.

Sharing his thoughts on being a part of the docu-series, actor Arjun Kapoor said, “My role in the series is of a cameo or a special appearance. I wanted to add value by being a platform where these filmmakers could talk freely. I was just happy to be a part of this moment for them, which was celebrating them and getting their due. Prime Video gave them a platform which was not intended to make fun of. They are not trying to make it tacky, but is highlighting the people who have had this journey. I was very happy to be a part of this environment where they could tell their side of the story.”

‘Cinema Marte Dum Tak’ is exclusively streaming now on Prime Video in India and 240 countries and territories worldwide. A Vice Studios Production, the six-episode docu-series is created by Vasan Bala and co-directed by Disha Rindani, Xulfee, and Kulish Kant Thakur.
