Ashish Sehgal made COO of Zee Unimedia

Zee Unimedia, the newly-formed entity by Zee Entertainment Enterprises to provide media planners with multiple options across genres and platforms, has named Ashish Sehgal as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, Sehgal had been Chief Sales Officer at Zee.

In his new role, Sehgal will drive advertising sales opportunities for Zee Unimedia across multiple platforms, including television, print and digital, among others.

Meanwhile, Bhaskar Das will be taking over as President and Chief Growth and Innovation Officer at Zee Unimedia. He will be reporting to Sehgal. Das is currently Group CEO at Zee Media Corporation.

The appointments were announced via an internal Zee communiqué last week.

It may be recalled that the Zee Entertainment Enterprises Board of Directors at a meeting held on March 29, 2016 inter alia approved in-principle the proposal for re-organising advertisement sales and channel distribution functions in the business operations of the company.

To provide an integrated solution to media buyers, with effect from April 1, 2016, Zee Unimedia, as a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, will act as canvassing agent to the company, associate/ related entities of the company and third party media companies at a mutually agreeable commission on arms-length basis.
