Atrangi Re to have its World Television Premiere on Sony MAX on 24th April

Can you love two people at the same time? Can love stories run through generations? This month, Sony MAX brings to you a cracker of a love triangle in the World Television Premiere of ‘Atrangi Re’ on 24^th April. Starring the dynamic trio of Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan, the film dwells on a unique facet of love also underlining a very significant narrative around mental health.  

In a twisted tale of love, Atrangi Re begins with Rinku (Sara Ali Khan), who is capsized by her family goons and forcefully married off to Vishu (Dhanush). As they return to the latter’s hamlet, the two decide to part ways owing to their opposing personalities. However, a series of incidents leads to change of heart in both. Before they could encounter their feelings, Rinku’s love interest, Sajjad (Akshay Kumar), a performing artist and magician arrives, adding further to the chaos. Caught in a quandary between her husband and a man she has loved for years, who would Rinku finally choose? 

Helmed by the prolific filmmaker Anand L Rai, the film rides on a soulful soundtrack composed by the genius A.R. Rahman along with a well nuanced screenplay and stupendous performances by the leads that will remain etched in your mind. So, grab that popcorn tub and get ready for a “Chaka Chak” Sunday with the World Television Premiere of Atrangi Re.

Talking about the film, Director Anand L Rai said “Atrangi Re for me is a unique love story which unfolds another beautiful relationship between father and daughter along its journey. This remains my most complicated love story till date"

He adds “Talking about the film's World Television Premier he says, "I feel the larger set of audience in India still waits for films to come on television. As the director of the film am really excited the movie will reach the interiors of India with Sony MAX telecasting it.”
