BARC ratings Wk 4: Star Plus climbs to No. 1; Life Ok plummets to No. 8

BARC ratings for Week 4 (January 23-29) of 2016 saw Star Plus pushing past Colors to rise to No. 1 position. The channel’s gross viewership increased to 711,538 from 681,775 in last week.

Colors, which had been leading the Hindi GEC space for quite some time, slipped to No. 2 with a marginal fall in its grow viewership – from 701,098 in Week 3 to 702,727 this week.

Zee TV held on to its third slot, witnessing a rise in its gross viewership from 647,201 last week to 692,249 in Week 4.

Placed at No. 4, Zee Anmol garnered gross viewership of 665,127, compared to 638,381 recorded in Week 3.

There was no change in the position of Star Utsav as well, which remained at the fifth position, registering a rise in gross viewership to 487,280 from 437,498 in Week 3.

Meanwhile, FTA channel Sony Pal rose up a notch to No. 6 in Week 4 with gross viewership of 420,179. Rishtey, which was placed seventh in Week 3, rose to No. 6 in Week 4 registering an increase in its gross viewership to 416,858 from 393,743 last week, a rise of around 6 per cent.

Life OK dropped to No. 8 from No. 6 this week with a marginal fall in its gross viewership to 411,480 from 427,374 last week.

Sony SAB and DD National remained unchanged at their respective positions of No. 9 and No. 10.

Top 5 shows on Hindi GECs

Colors’ ‘Naagin’ continues to be the top rated show in the Hindi GEC space, garnering ratings of 19,133 in Week 4, which is a slight rise from 17,199 recorded last week. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ also remained unchanged at the No. 2 with ratings of 15,554 as against 14,244 last week.

Star Plus’ ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ climbed a notch to become No. 3 with ratings of 12,095, while Colors’ ‘Sasural Sasural Simar Ka’ dropped to No. 4 due to drop in its ratings from 13,180 to 11,689 in Week 4.

‘Jamai Raja’ on Zee TV was placed in the fifth position with ratings of 11,249.
