BARC Wk 6:Star Plus remains at No.1; India-Lanka T-20 match among top shows

BARC ratings for Week 6 (February 6-12) of 2016 saw several changes among the leading Hindi GECs.

Star Plus, which climbed to the No. 1 spot in Week 4, remained at the top for the third straight week, garnering gross viewership in of 711,158 in Week 6, as against gross viewership of 724,223 last week.

Colors continued at No. 2, witnessing a marginal decline in its gross viewership to 689,432 from 713,106 in Week 5.

Zee TV, too, held on to its third spot. The channel saw a slight increase in its gross viewership from 684,106 in Week 5 to 686,349 this week.

Placed at No. 4, Zee Anmol garnered gross viewership of 669,828, compared to 540,883 recorded in Week 5, which is a rise of around 24 per cent.

Star Utsav climbed a notch to No. 5 from No. 6 as its gross viewership escalated to 437,543, a rise of around 23 per cent over last week’s 355,093.

Life OK, which had climbed up to the fifth spot in Week 5, slipped to No. 6, though its ratings marginally improved to 437,228 from 425,211 last week.

Sony Pal ascended to No. 7 slot from No. 9 with gross viewership of 397,413, compared to 330,874 last week.

Meanwhile, Sony TV slipped to No. 8 from No. 7 with gross viewership of 349,537.

At No. 9, DD National made an entry to the top ten list on account of the T20 series. Rishtey was placed in the tenth spot, garnering gross viewership of 343,724, compared to 289,121 last week.

Top 5 shows on Hindi GECs

Cricket made an entry among the top shows on Hindi GECs in Week 6, however, it failed to dislodge Colors’ ‘Naagin’ from the top slot in the Hindi GEC space, garnering ratings of 20,680 in Week 6, which is a slight increase from 19,573 recorded last week.

DD National made an entry in the second spot on the back of PayTm T20 Trophy India vs Sri Lanka (2nd match). The first match of this series was ranked fourth with ratings of 13,992.

Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped to No. 3 as its ratings marginally declined from 14,587 to 14,261.

Placed at No. 5, Zee Anmol’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ made an entry in the list with ratings of 13,447.
